Dither: Oldschool Photo Editor
Hi! This is a page for Dither App which I made a couple of days ago. It allows you to edit your photos in stylish old-school way. And it looks like this!
It produces black and white image where each pixel can be only black or white with no grey colors, but they are properly placed to emulate the missing shades. Dithering was used to display pictures on old screens with limited colors and GIF technology also uses dithering.
App supports two types of dithering:
- Floyd-Steinberg — the most popular error diffusion algorithm (and it is the default one).
- Ordered — the same algorithm which was used in old matrix printers. You can set matrix size there and see the difference.
Share your images in social media with #ditherapp hashtag! And mention @ditherapp user on Instagram. If you found any bugs or don’t know how to use the app send me an email to contact@mtldoc.com
Dither Privacy Policy
This app doesn’t collect any information about you and it won’t. I promise! It doesn’t make a single network request, has zero third-party dependencies and even doesn’t use analytics services :) Though maybe I’ll add some analytics in the future and update this page.
Even in this case your photos are absolutely safe. I don’t need them and won’t upload it anywhere. The only permission Dither App asks for is permission to save photo to photo library. An it doesn’t require read access to your photos since adding a photo is handled by iOS. App only receives the photo you selected and no other photos at all.
The best privacy policy in the world :)
Have any concerns about it? Send me an email to contact@mtldoc.com. I’ll respond ASAP!
